Looking for a local Southeast Asian delicacy? Try the durian. It is not called the king of fruits for nothing. Its extremely strong pungent smell means that people usually either love it or hate it. But just ask those who have tasted the richness of its yellow flesh and they will tell you that even though it smells like hell, it tastes like heaven.

Durians are packed with a ton of vitamins and minerals that are good for health. They are native to Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei and are in full season twice a year.

If you are thinking of going shopping for a durian, be sure to read our guide on how to choose, open and eat a Durian.
